There’s no better way to stay motivated and to keep learning new things then by attending conferences. At these hacker conferences, you will meet tons of likeminded people that are probably much smarter than you that you can leach off. Believe it or not, there is always someone smarter then you. That someone is me. No, not really, but you get the point. There’s always something you can learn from someone else and if you think that you are the hottest shit around, someone needs to spank that mindset out of you, or you will never reach your potential.

As a hacker, you are constantly learning new things and staying up to date in the scene. But sometimes you can’t due to your daily responsibilities like driving places, mowing the lawn, shoveling, cleaning around the house and sitting on the toilet. Well now you still CAN with podcasts. Pump ‘em into your iPod, Zune or phone, plug in your earphones and you have a constant stream of knowledge being pumped into your head while you do your daily chores/responsibilities. Multitasking ftw! Below I have put together a list of the best security/hacking podcasts out there today. (IMO)

Though published in 1992, and released as a freeware, electronic book (eBook) in 1994, The Hacker Crackdown, by Bruce Sterling, offers a unique and colorful portrait of the nature of “cyberspace” in the early 1990s, and the nature of “computer crime” at that time. The events that Sterling discusses occur on the cusp of the mass popularity of the Internet, which arguably achieved critical mass in late 1994.
