I know you do, that’s why I’m going to give you this awesome eBook on batch programming that teaches with hackers in mind. The eBook is called “Batch File Programming”. I know, who would have guessed.

But before I give you access to the eBook, first you must know what Batch File Programming is.

Batch files are essentially sequences of DOS commands stored in a text file with an extension of “BAT”. When run, the batch executes each line in the batch file as if they were typed in at the console. So basically, a file containing DOS commands that you normally type into the command prompt.

Batch file are mainly used to do repeat tasks. Instead of typing in a commands over and over again to do a certain task, you can create a batch file that does it all automatically by performing a bulk set of commands.

So why should hackers know batch programming? Well I’ll give you a few ideas and you can decide on your own:

Attacks

DNS Poisoning

Packet flooders

Dictionary attacks

Creating Viruses

Service Disabler

Clearing Logs

Annoyance

Bombers (Fork, Broadcast)

Msg Annoyers

Flooders (user, folders)

Extension changer (ex. html -> exe)

Keystroke remapper

There are so many more annoyances but I’m getting annoyed just from listing them. But I bet you get the point.. so lets get to the good stuff, no not drugs you bum. Click the image to download it.
It is a true story about a pack of teenagers that were thought to be responsible for the giant AT&T crash after being tracked by the FBI for some time. It talks about the whole hacker underground culture in the very beginning, mentioning the famous Legion of Doom (LoD) and Masters of Destruction (and later) Deception (MoD).

Besides the change in technology, the underground discussed in the book is still very much similar to the one that exists today. It tells the journey of a few teenagers as they get interested in the hacking scene, how they grow in knowledge and skill, and how their morals/ethics start to change as their skill increases which gets them in lots of trouble.

I’ve just finished the book titled The Fugitive Game: Online with Kevin Mitnick by Jonathan Littman. It was all about Kevin Mitnick’s life on the run, all the way up to his capture. If you've been living under a donkey's sack, or are just new to the hacker scene and are clueless to who Kevin Mitnick is, check out his Wikipedia page. I found this book very interesting and recommend it to anyone looking for a good read. You can get it for as little as $2 bux on Amazon.

The book is based on the research and long, late night conversations the author, Jonathan, had with Kevin Mitnick while he was on the run from the FBI. And NO, no phone sex was involved, although as you’ll find out, Kevin Mitnick was pretty lonely at the time.

So if you are into hacker’s stories like me, read it. If not, read it anyway.”"

I knew it was possible, but it would require a very talented programmer and a team to keep it updated with all types of exploits.

In the book, Duncan creates a script kiddies dream, a one click hack all program. With this program, Duncan could point it at any computer or network and within a short period of time extract all of its sensitive data and take over, then destroy it’s hardware if he wanted to. When word got out about his program, he got his marbles kicked in but managed to escape. The man-hunt began. Blah Blah.. read the book (good read):

Click Me For The Book

Anyways, after finishing the book I found a news article that said the Government was in the process of finishing a program just like it! Here’s a quote from the article:

As the US military strives to boost its ability to wage cyber warfare, it’s looking for ways to make it easier for non-expert soldiers on the front lines to wreak havoc on enemy networks.

Enter a new generation of attack devices that is packaged to be brought into the battlefield and used by non-specialists to penetrate satellites, voice over internet networks, and supervisory control and data acquisition systems. Aviation Week recently got a peek at one device and provided a rich description of its features.

The device is designed to allow US forces to test enemy networks for a wide range of vulnerabilities and then synthesize the results so they can be acted on quickly. It offers touch-screen dashboards and sliders to make enumeration and penetration more intuitive. One display shows a schematic of an enemy network and identifies its nodes. A sliding lever can be moved to increase an attack or dial it down to reduce collateral damage.

Imagine having that kind of power. That’s some crazy shit!

A sliding lever can be moved to increase an attack or dial it down to reduce collateral damage.

I’m assuming they are talking about a DDOS attack in the above quote. With the amount of computers and bandwidth the government has access to, they could take down literally any network their little heart desires.

Cyber warfare is the future. Now instead of sending a bomb to the enemy, we’ll just take out its means of communication, take control of its major resources and blame it on North Korea. All from the comfort of the Governments air conditioned offices.

What do you think about all of this? Let’s hear your opinion below:

Source: The Register“”

It was such a great book I finished it in just two days, and that’s pretty good for me since I don’t like to read for long periods of time.

It goes through the life of Kevin Poulsen, mug shot below (yes I know, a little creepy) :

Some of the incredibly fascinating things he did was activate deactivated Yellow Book escort telephone numbers for a local Pimp. This Pimp then payed Kevin every time one of his many bitches got a telephone call that ended up in the paid business of sexy time. Genius, eh?

Another thing discussed in the book is how Kevin could wiretap anyone in California, including the FBI and how he could see who the FBI was wiretapping, illegally, all the time, without warrants. Convenient.

I highly recommend this book, and if you are interested, here’s a link to it:
The Watchman: The Twisted Life and Crimes of Serial Hacker Kevin Poulsen“”
