MrCracker.com 2.0

Heya! It’s been what seems like years since I actually posted something besides a podcast on MrCracker.com. This is going to change, I will now never post anything again. Just kidding :p, I’m planning on completely relaunching MrCracker.com.

I don’t want MrCracker.com to die a slow death so I’m taking some action. I will be completely redesigning the whole site, getting full time interesting writers and adding on some co-hosts to the CrackerCast Podcast since it must get pretty annoying having only my voice pounding your ear lobes.. and it’s always nice to have other opinions on different topics even though I’m obviously always right. Oh yeah, and I’m planning on starting a video podcast as well.

What I need from you is some guidance. I’m doing this for you, so I want to know exactly what you want. What do you like about the site? Podcast? What should I change? What kind of things should I start covering (ex. tools, techniques)? What type of features should I add to the site? Tell me! Now!

Overall, I just want to become more consistent with this site. Release new posts and podcasts regularly, and it would help if I had an idea of what you wanted to read/hear.

Why is there a big muscular black dude in this post? I don’t know either.

So comment below. Please :) .

I agree that you should post things other than podcasts, and having several people write for the site is a great idea. It can bring more diversity to the topics and writing styles. Video podcasts sound good as well, because you can walk people through the steps of applying whatever it is you’re talking about. Additionally, you could add some sort of suggestion box feature, so that people can freely add their own suggestions, you’ll probably get a lot of spam and trolls, but the actual advice you receive can be priceless. I also think that you could do some tutorials/reviews of tools, a bit like in your book “Hacker’s Underground Handbook” (which I highly recommend to people of all skill levels). Also, if people can submit their own articles for review, it could save a lot of time and money.

In summary, just diversify your content and have more people writing.

@Marwan, great suggestions! I’ll definitely add the suggestion box. Thanks for taking the time to write that up :)

Dude, what the hell happened to you? You just disappeared..to be honest I disappeared for a while myself – thought you gave up!
Okay so I was thinking maybe you could add more content about linux most people that want to get serious with hacking usually want to learn more about it and why it’s important and how it differs from windows also include security stuff like firewalls in this case iptables or IDS like snort etc, etc. Dude did you cover the stuxnet worm? Anyway, you could talk about rooting phones, techniques used..and stuff like the malicious apps dialing premium lines..what else..? You could talk about the new bitcoin technology all that good stuff :)
Oh and you could over the on going cyber warfare and ask people for their opinions like who wrote stuxnet, is china really behind the current attacks, you know stuff to engage the community..i mean you’ve covered a lot of aspects on hacking so you might as well cover real stories of them being implemented :)
And btw the podcasting is awesome, i’ve slept a couple of times listening to your voice actually..no homo.

@phibaoptik, haha I do the same thing with podcasts I listen too, although I always have to relisten to them afterwards. It’s good to know I’m slowly programming your subconscious to agree with all of my opinions as you sleep lol. Thanks for the suggestions though, lots of good ones in there!

    Dear brother,
Can you add “related” – topics, posts, commented & viewed on every topic viewed. It will be easy for us to pursue on one area.
Let say: “Email Hacking” topic is currently opened up then “email hacking” related posts, topics, comments and most viewed can be listed along with that topic.

    Hey!
I agree with some opinions that there should be some topics about programming, some real-time online help if available, but I think when the website is launched again, people will know what they need, and they will make requests…
Thx 4 this and other great website you’ve created…

@fester i’m pretty sure he did an article or podcast (cant remember witch) on female hackers and found a distinct lack of them… but then again that could be because the female ones dont get caught… who knows, as i said before malware is a good topic and also maybe 1 article or podcast on all (or at lesat the most popular) programming languages people should learn and how/when to apply them

i for one think that the site could use something like a library section with books (preferably free) on c++, python, c#, etc a sort of learn to walk section for those just learning how to program, and for those who want to take a refresher course (i.e. pattern implementation, backtracking classic examples [like the queens on the chessboard], and other classic must know exercises like the delivery boy exercise [again not sure if that's the correct English name I'm using the literal translation from Romanian but the exercise sounds something like a delivery boy needs to go to the following destinations {we get a set of coordinates represented by a bi-dimensional array} create an algorithm that calculates the shortest and less expensive route].
also a forum or a chat board would be cool to let the community interact, i mean i took a long pause from the security scene because i had no one to talk to about it for a long time.
and finally (this is the bonus section) an online “game” of sorts were you can choose 2 options a) either create a virtual system and try not to get hacked
or b) yep you guessed it try to hack the systems other people created (or the ones already on the server)
as a reference for this idea i’m using the game Hacker but i would prefer if the virtual system in this versions were actually related to the real ones
i.e. if you could write your own code alongside the pre-exiting one
(and if you need help with this one i’d be happy to help implement part of it)

I would be interested in a look at john, wireshark, aircrack, etc. Perhaps some system admin/security stuff and maybe a recommended reading list. Some sort of entertainment to cool of the brain between spurts of info would be ideal too. Oh maybe some puzzles like find the bug in the code sections or networking puzzles. Things to challenge the mind with what is learned. Good Luck with the project.

I think you should offer free Tutorials on the site. I mean after all, just the word FREE draws a huge audience. Lol. Anyway, some good teaching on Malware, how it is done, and all about Botnets, and this Malware and Spyware, and Botnets. How it is all made or created prior to going out on the WWW. Just my 2 cents. Thanks and keep up this AWESOME site. Dale

    Hey
Only recently discovered the podcasts but love the content of the website. For suggestions for topics Id suggest taking your cue from the tools available in Backtrack & talking through what can be done with various tools. Describing hacks involving various tools to show what each tool contributes. Also you could talk about RATs like Poison Ivy & crypter programs. Smartphone hacks may be a growing topic so I think you could look at that in more detail, both offensive & defensively.

    Hey,

    Here’s some of my suggestions:

    *Linux specific tutorials/articles
    *Penetration Testing
*Show us how to use various hacking tools(Metasploit,SET,john etc..)
    *Programming(C,Java,Python)

And also a forum on the new website would be great.
More interesting written tutorials with illustrated pictures.

That’s what I got for now. I’m Really looking forward to the new website. Do you know when the the website will be released?

    PS:
Sorry if some of these suggestions are are already posted, I didn’t have time to read them all.

I think that it would be good when you do that stuff to not only explain how to hack but why it works and how all the different parts in the techniques work. That would make it a lot easier for people who are new to this.
